In an effort to come up with the next great "innovation" in coin technology, the Pacific Island of Palau has begun a series called the "Scent of Paradise". Each coin will have a different smell! Take the coin out of the capsule (they suggest rubbing your finger on the coconut - I do not) and smell the scent of fresh coconut! One side of this 38.6mm sterling silver 2009 dated 5 Dollar coin pictures has a multi-colored picture of a coconut and a palm tree next to the tropical blue ocean. In the background is the sailing ship The Bounty. The other side of the coin has the Palau arms. Only 2500 pieces were issued.
