The sets date from 1966 to 1972 and are sealed in their original protective pilofilm holder. The 1 Centavo pictures native chief Urraca, who helped Panama gain its independence from Spain in 1821. The top four denominations picture Vasco Nunez de Balboa, the first European to "discover" the Pacific Ocean. The sets have a mintage of less than 24,000.
